2009 Spring Medical\Dental Trek

Physicians, dentists, nurses, PA and also other volunteers (including family members) are invited to join this two weeks long Himalayan trek in remote Ganesh Himal mountain region to support and train local health providers and treat hundreds of villagers who have little or no health care. The first ten volunteers will be accepted. They will be supported by a team of over twenty medical and trek staff and about fifty porters. Everything will be portered in. The highest point on the trek will be 14,000ft. and the lowest will be about 2000ft. Medical work will be empirical at best with little diagnostic support.

A sample itinerary and route map are available, as is a full information package, which has the trek application forms as well.
